Took very good care of my sister while she was there
worst hospital ever i will be going to anothe er right now and fort Hamilton Will have a lawsuit this is the last time i deal with this just because there the closest hospital to me
I had a heart attack and and was taken to Fort Hamilton. What could have been a horrible experience was made so much better by being treated with dignity by by a kind and caring staff. No one likes to be stuck in a hospital but the doctors and nurses made the stay much better. I would recommend them to family and friends.
I was not contacted, they said they called the house, which was after I left to meet dad at the hospital for a was told 9:45 ct scan and when I got here at 9:30 he was not here at all, he was sent back. I was then told he was supposed to have blood work before and then c.f. scan. Nothing was said previously by anyone and nursing ho.e did not know what going on either. She did not call my house, I gave them my number and told them not to call my sister last week when registered for that ct scan , but of course that was not in the computer. The staff was nice last week. But because I was amgry in voice only and said I was passed they called the security guard ! What a joke. I hope the doctor raises Cain also after I do !!
Every time I have come to ER, I have never had a good experience. As soon as you arrive, it's a nice waiting room, but that's about it. They then ask you rapid fire questions, when you are already nervous at the front desk. You are not treated with dignity or respect. They get impatient when you try to explain why you are there. I will say it is very quick to get to front desk, but the rapid fire questions are nerverackung. Then someone walks you back to a room, does not say anything, does not give you a blanket in a freezing cold room, gives you a gown that is way too large. Then just gives you a remote and leaves not bothering to write down who your Doctor or nurse is or when they will be in. Then they make you sit in this room for hours, you are ignored, they don't even give you water to drink or ice chips. When you ask they are rude. I have almost walked out on many occasions because of sitting there being ignored in a freezing cold room shivering and thirsty. No One checks on you. Once I had to walk out in the hallway and ask three nurses how long I was there and when a doctor would come in. This was after three hours of laying there. They all were sitting around chatting with each other, not caring about patient needs, all three said they "would check and come back" and No One came back. The only person that treated me with kindness was the lady who took my blood who saw me shivering and she brought me a smaller gown, some ice chips, and a warm blanket. Now, why couldn't a nurse show the same kindness? A few days I went in there, and left feeling worse then when I went in. All they did was "blood work" a urine tests and some x-rays. I was there because I was severely constipated. All the Doctor said is "I'm going to send you home with a pill" if he would have looked at my med list he should have noticed it's a medication I already take for chronic and severe constipation and impaction. I pleaded for an enema, as I was miserable. They said they "do not do enemas". What ER dept does not do enemas?? Makes no sense. They did not help me whatsoever. Just have me a suppository that have me rectal pain and severe cramping. When I was waiting for a cab, I advised front desk if I could speak to a doctor due to severe cramping after an hour, rectal bleeding, no bowel movement. A suppository is supposed to give you a bowel movement within an hour. The doctor said it would be next day which is entirely wrong. They need to have more training. The front desk was rude to me and would not allow me to talk to Doctor saying I would have to be re-admitted. DO NOT GO TO THIS ER DEPARTMENT AT FORT HAMILTON, THEY ARE RUDE, UNCARING, INCOMPETENT. WORST ER DEPT EVER. THEY NEVER GET BETTER.
